課程概述 |
This course is to train students on presenting literature as well as the study design of their thesis. This course may also include special lectures on topics related to academic presentation, writing, research design and implementation. |

課程目標 |
At the end of the course the students are expected to
1. Explain the role of quantitative and qualitative methods and sciences in describing and assessing a population’s health (DGH-3).
2. Apply monitoring and evaluation techniques to global health programs, policies, and outcomes (GH-3).
3. After taking this course, students should have the ability to collect, summarize reports, and review journal literature.
4. They have to build, and practice in this course, the ability to criticize the papers they reviewed and provide thoughtful and valuable comments to their classmates as well.

課程要求 |
1. Each student should present at least twice (depending on the number of enrolled students) in this course: one is to present selected paper(s) relevant to their thesis study; the second is to present the study design of their study. Preliminary results of their study can be included in the presentation if available.
2. All students will in turn be assigned as commenters for the presentation of literature or study design.
3. All students have to give an evaluation for the performance of commenters and presenters.
4. Students who act as a presenter should provide their slide decks/papers to all the attendees one week before the presentation.
5. Students who act as a commenter should provide one-page written comments to their classmates and teachers after the class.
